Forge World Friday - Titans

So, Titans…

When I was a kid the inly titans we had were in Epic: Adeptus Titanicus and we always talked about how cool it would be if GW made one at 40k scale. You even had people scratch building these things, which looked awesome to my 16yr old eyes.

Now we actually have them, and there’s plenty of blogs out there following people building and painting these things. Reading these, suddenly I realise as a busy dad I will probably never have the time or space (or money) to own a Warlord, no matter how much my 16yr old self craved one.

Plus the sheer effort going in to building and painting these is quite daunting. I find it hard to find the time to build and paint a squad of marines, never mind a ‘miniature’ that’s almost as big as my toddler! Maybe I’ll just scratch build Logan a titan cos-play outfit and put him on the table!

Still, that’s not to say they are awesome and today sees another batch of awesomeness unleashed by FW. I must say that he FW website is looking very sparkly today with their fancy titan animations and Warlord Titan Builder:

Today sees three new options readied for the Warlord Titan; the Lucius Alpha pattern Head; the Arioch Power Claw; and the Sunfury pattern Plasma Annihilator. With these awesome new options we wanted to make it as easy as possible for you to choose the right parts for your Warlord Titan, so today we’ve also launched the Warlord Titan Builder!

The Warlord Titan Builder is the easiest way to pick the head and weapons to equip your Warlord with. Just click on the cogs on the image and select each component from the menu.

Each time you select a new option the image of the Titan will change, and the list of components will update. Once you’ve created your perfect Titan, then click ‘Add to Cart’ and you’re ready to go! You’ll soon be wreaking havoc on your enemies and smashing whole armies to dust!
In short, it's not he Space Wolves transfer sheet I've been waiting for, and it won't make me buy a titan but it does look cool, so I'll let them off this week...
