Astra Militarum Hellhound Complete! - Melt & Burn for the Emperor

Following on from part 1 HERE where I got my new Hellhound up to a very clean tabletop standard of painting I have now weathered the heck out of it and I am calling it finished.

Below are some comments about what I did to weather the Hellhound and all of the pictures introducing The Emperor's Feth newly recruited suicide cleanse and burn division...

1.- I absolutely love this model, it was a joy to paint with all of the details and character that is in this kit. I didn't feel I really had to add anything extra to it in the form of add-ons or equipment.

2 - Following the last post I thought that I would try a few new techniques out that I have been recommended to use by the other dads for ages.
Firstly I sponged on some Abaddon black to areas of the model where paint chipping would occur such as edges that may get caught, where handles get used and where guardsmen would climb up and down the vehicle.
I have never done this before but the outcome is super effective and i'm totally going to do it on every model from this point on!

September Hobby Challenge - Update

This week us Dad's have been making headway in to the September hobby challenge, and thought we'd better provide you an update of our progress

Dad Dave's interpretation of Alexis Polux is coming along nicely, although he isn't sure about the crimson-painted fist on the shield. What do you think?

Dad Steve is putting us all to shame with the progress on his Angron. He's almost done but has promised to drag it out for a few more days...

Dad James has gone LARGE and is making slow but steady progress on his Baneblade

Dad Rich has... well, I think this photo speaks for itself... come on Rich, pull your finger out!

How are you doing with your challenge project? Let us know on Twitter

Will It Never End? Hobby Challenge Update - Rich update 1

The idea for this challenge was conceived around a month ago and it served as serious inspiration for me from the get -go. So my collection of models had a head start on the challenge itself. Both my medics have been screaming at me to paint them for so long and now was the time, so I have finished them off this week!

Why I needed these models
I needed these models in my force as I combine them in an Imperial Fist Stone Gauntlet list. The apothecary joins a squad of breachers which gives Feel No Pain to a T5, 3+5++(6++) set of models. They are hard to kill and can hold their own, or kick some ass as the need arises, and for some time now I've been fielding them unpainted which is really bugging me. In fact recently, Jame declared that he would no longer field incomplete models and now that my painted 30k force has got up to a decent size I will be adopting the same approach.  I also combine them with my ThunderHammer StormShield Terminators for a set of 2+3++ unit with FNP - they are rally hard to shift for an opponent!

Painting white
I've been a fan of painting white for many years now, ever since I bought an airbrush (or used a spray
can of Corax White which is excellent), because you can show off so much in the way of weathering, chipping and varying colours - even on a model as small as an Astartes. The better power armours for this are typically Mk IV upwards as they have some larger flatter surface areas which provide the perfect 'canvas' but the earlier Mks are great for the jointing in the armour which takes washes and chipping well too.

I sprayed them white, sealed them with gloss varnish and then used a black/burnt amber oil wash mixed with odourless spirits. I then added the decals, gel paints, details, weathering etc before sealing them with satin varnish to give them a very satisfying matt look.

For weathering I used Forgeworld weathering powders dry mud and fresh mud. I also used a little black pain on the end of a fine brush to add in the chips and scratches.

Trying out the new gel paints
I used new GW gel paints on these guys and am fairly pleased. Its hard to describe what kind of paint this is, sort of a gross between a clear paint and a coloured varnish which is extra gloopy! I used them on the cabling to try and get a sense that the cables/vials were clear glass with a coloured liquid inside. I think they did ok. I also tried mixing them and got a nice purple colour to put on a couple of vials (see photo). Dave, has also heard that people are diluting them (with Lahriman medium?) and painting them on power swords to get a cool effect, I will be looking into that.

Modelling the bases
I tried out something new here with the base. I got some plasticard and used a ruler and blade to score a tiled floor into it, then cut out the shape of the base and stuck it on. I painted it light grey and washed it with nuln oil. I then added a few dry brush highlights to draw attention to
it. Not a bad first attempt, I think I need to go back and wash in some back to make the gaps between tiles stand out more but am pretty happy with it.

Inspiration
I researched for a while and could see that there were cases of apothecary being garbed in all white, pure legion colours and a mix of the two, as i said above, Ive always loved painting white so that was
a no-brainer for me.

Anyways, let me know what you think, and let me know how love painted your apothecary... from one medic to another!

First Captain Sigismund - Character and Rules Review

I have had an Imperial Fist army for about a year now and quickly grew to love this guy. I am giving you a bit of fluff on this chap and my thoughts on his rules and playing him in games...

A history of Death's Champion

Sigismund is known as Death's Champion after he was given the title of being the first Emperor's Champion. However, Sanguinius remarked that he seemed '...less my brother Dorn's champion and more Death's himself'. Always thought this was a strange comment to make by a Primarch who was supposed to be espousing the Imperial Truth (pre-heresy comment), but it sounds cool so who cares - eh?!

He is considered within the lore as being first among warriors after the Primarch's themselves; I suspect there are a few other main characters who would like to challenge this view, but he is certainly considered one of the finest loyalist warriors (and has the rules to back this up).

He has hasn't featured much in the Heresy so far but has been one of its most insightful characters. Early on in the novels remarking to Loken "We will spend our lives fighting to secure this Imperium, and then I fear we will spend the rest of our days fighting to keep it intact.....In the far future, there will be only war" - thats got to rank him as one of the most thoughtful Heresy characters I think. I like also his critical insight into the nature of the Imperium at this stage 'space is limitless, and so is our appetite to master it.' He is one of those characters who stand out like Garro, Loken and the Sigillite as truly seeing the Imperium's flaws and finding something in humanity that they still wish to protect.

Sigismund in M.13

No thats not a typo....I am often curious to see what I can find out about a characters name-sake and see if there may be clues as to the 31st Millennium version. There was a warrior-king called Sigismund in 14th Century Europe so I took a look at his life for similarities or clues as to what might be in store for Sigi. This guy raises several armies, uniting parts of Europe against the Turks and Poles with varying success and is portrayed as leading these large (up to 80,000 strong forces) from the front mounted on horseback and waving a jolly big sword about!

In that sense there is a little similarity although there is none of the 'perfect warrior' element really although it will be interesting to see if our Sigismund will do more to unite others against a common enemy. The Hungarian Sigismund's life was beset by feuding, political games and intrigue, which he played his own part in too. Our Sigismund may be getting some more of this coming his way too then.

Two things that are common are that his life was one long struggle, the 14th Century version was always having to guard his throne from rivals within and battle rivals without too - he would often think his way out of these problems as well as occasionally send out an army. I think this rings true of our Sigismund too who is thus far in turmoil over his early faith in the Emperor, reliance on visions from Euphrati Keeler etc and the idea of him riding at the head of huge armies could give us clues as to the course of events in M.31. The Second thing and this may be what GW latched onto is that he creates his own order of Knights - who get the very cool name The Order of the Dragon, I think when I paint up my Templar Brethren i will try and incorporate some of this into their heraldry somehow.

Anyway back to M.31

Thus far in the HH novels we have seen Sigismund in:

The Flight of the Eisenstein - here we see him take on the visions of Keeler who tells him he must make a choice about the part he will play in the Heresy, neither of which are particularly appealing.
The Crimson Fist - here we see him confess to his father the motivations that lead him to stay on Terra and not lead out the Retribution Fleet.
Templar - here we see him attack a Word Bearer outpost in the Sol System.

He has not got his own book yet like his brother Alexis Pollux so what we know about him must be gleaned from these short appearances.

Sigismund's toughest moment comes not in battle but instead on Terra as he stands before his father and admits to the visions that guided his request to remain on Terra rather than lead the retribution fleet as he had been ordered. Dorn's fury at his sons belief in 'superstition' and the Primarch's blindness to the foresight and reasoned approach that Sigismund takes does much to warm him to me also. Like Garro speaking his ming to Dorn and getting knocked out, I think this guys honourable sacrifice is what makes him hugely appealing.

The duelist Sigismund
Of course its not only charm, intellect and looking good in a tabard that make this guy great. He is a monster in terms of combat - we don't see so much generalship from him so far (unlike Pollux who is demonstrably a leader who can get the most out of those around him and the situation he is in) - but what we do see is a single combat beast!

If you read Templar, by John French, we can see Sigismund on a mission to quiet a Word Bearer station within the Sol system. The story cuts in and out of this assault and takes him back to some happy time...taking out the greatest swordsman the White Scars can offer (he also reuses to ill the guy after beating him) .... beating down his best mate (?) Kharn who he regularly thrashes with apparent ease.... and of course we discover that when a daemon possessed Word Bearer who is seemingly unstoppable comes up against this son of Dorn, it turns out the are very stoppable in fact.

There is a nice link with the model and the history of Sigismund in this short story as we find out about why he has his weapons chained to him, which actually comes in handy in the end. A nice physical representation of how this great warrior is bound to his duty.

And on to M.32
Sigismund is described in Templar as having never lost a duel (we don't count the underhand cheating of Sevetar) and by the end of the heresy this is still true. I think he will get his own book, probably by John French who seems to be curating this character, about his actions at the battle of Terra at least. The lore has it currently that he defeats every enemy he meets there - the guy is a legend! Shame he wasn't there when Horus was fighting Dad at the end.

After stalking the battlefield at the Siege of Terra and defeating every enemy champion he could find he found no real slake to his thirst for revenge. He was looking for Abandon who he wanted to share a few points with on the battlefield. Fast forward 500 years and Sigi catches up with Abaddon on the first Black Crusade - the two meet in single combat and only Abaddon walks away from it. I've not been able to find the actual reference (Talon of Horus I think) for this in the collated lore, and given how much I like Sigi I am kind of avoiding it a little. We will see how the lore develops in a few years, maybe he's still out there...somewhere!

Immediately after the Heresy Sigismund is sent forth to found the Black Templars and he is given the most zealous Asrtartes to pursue an eternal crusade against the traitors, all dressed in his personal heraldry (black and white of course!) that he has worn since the Siege of Terra.

Best books to find out more about this hero...
Flight of the Eisenstein - James Swallow
The Crimson Fist - John French
Templar - John French

His rules in the game
Alan Bligh has done a nice job of matching rules to character in this case and (as an IF player) I am delighted with the result.

Sigismund doesn't offer much to the rest of the army in terms of force multipliers (other than allowing Templar Brethren to be taken as troops), but he does make his squad and absolute hammer in close combat.

He confers the chance to re-roll charges, the unit gains +1 to I in the first round of combat and they can re-roll sweeping advance rolls.

Like all ICs in the VIIth legion he must initiate challenges where he can, when he does this his wounds are Instant Death and he forces re-rolls of successful Invul Saves from his AP2 weapon. And if that isn't enough the Black Sword gives +2 to strength too!

When using him in challenges don't forget that if he is fighting a unit with two ICs and one refuses a challenge the other must accept - this can be really handy for working your way through units that have apothecaries or chaplains that confer benefits to the unit that can tarpit him.

Oh and how best to use him? Don't go mad, do the math-hammer and pick units he will destroy and be able to get onto the next thing. Go for their Warlord (extra VP for killing him), go for their high value units (not really vehicles if you can help it) and make sure he gets the charge. To do this, put him in a Spartan (or some other Landraider variant to get him into the charge).

I have lost him a couple of times - once to tarpits and another time because the enemy kept throwing decent units at him and I lost the initiative. Try and take on units you can isolate, as early as possible in the game and keep ferrying him around to put the hurt on your enemy.

I have run him with 5 THSS Terminators and also with a 20 man Breacher Squad (in a Spartan). Both are good in different ways and I am still tinkering to decide what is best.

The verdict
In summary, I think this guy is building a great back-story (thanks John French), the model (as i described in an earlier post)is stunning and the rules make him one of, if not the, best IC's in combat below the Primarchs. He is a permanent feature in my army.

There you have it - one of 30k & 40ks biggest figures - I hope you enjoy playing with/against him as much as me!

Happy hobbying!

Mission Review/Battle Report: Maelstrom of War - Cleanse & Control

So Dad James and I have played three games recently and we are working these up into a bit of a narrative campaign with a thread flowing throughout. Basic storyline is that during the Heresy a force of Blood Angels break away from the Legion naming themselves the Flesh Tearers. They are considered to be traitors by a force of loyalist Imperial Fists and well you can guess the rest!

First a bit of narrative...
Battle of Phater Minor (made up name and made up mission!)

Early on in this expanding campaign a heretical splinter group of Flesh Tearers took the opportunity of easy prey and attacked a landing zone where the remains of a downed Imperial Fist starship lay. Their mission was to recover as much information as possible through accessing computer data from working machines that lay strewn across the crash site. The Imperial Fists responded deploying a force into the now wrecked city but the Flesh Tearers beat the VIIth Legion back and drained the recovered hard drives of all data including sensitive information and codes.
Flesh Tearers won this one.

Conclave of the Lost (Legendary Mission HH Book 6)

Using this info the traitors masqueraded as a loyal chapter using official codes and channels and lured two Imperial Fist officers into a temple separating the hierarchy from their support troops. This was an effective ambush as the Flesh Tearers pounced leaving the 2 commanders isolated. Fortunately even though 1 commander died the attempt was ultimately unsuccessful as the assassination of the loyalists officers was thwarted by dogged resistance and the rogue marines were almost wiped out. During this battle a traitor was captured and mind-swept which revealed where the traitors had set up their base. It also turns out that an Astra Militarum (I know we are mixing 40k and 30k a lot here!) regiment had turned with the Tearers calling themselves the Emperors Feth.

Imperial Fists win this one

Battle of the Fort of Nine Towers (Maelstrom of War Cleanse & Control Mission)With the planetary base known to the IF an old fort town was identified as being a suitable place to plant a stronghold in order to mount a suitable invasion to wipe the heresy from the Galaxy. In this town several places were marked for the IF to secure such as an infirmary, communications station etc. Resistance was expected and encountered through the AM splinter group commanded by a Sanguinary Priest and his retinue of terminators. In the end the IF were beaten back and withdrew from the area taking heavy casualties but not before securing vital information regarding further landing areas and another group of astartes who seem to be tangled in this web of heresy....

Mission Review - Cleanse & Control

I have to say this mission is one of the best I have tried. The Primary Objective is to build up your Victory Points by securing objectives each game turn. There is a D100 list of objectives and at the start of the game you roll off with two dice to get yourself 3 of these objectives.

You must always have three objectives and once you have achieved one it is discarded and another drawn at the next turn. You may also discard objectives at the start of you turn and draw new ones if you don't think they are achievable.

The objectives include some to hold an objective point so we laid out 6 of these at the start of the game, randomly numbered. Other objectives were things like 'wipe out 3 units in one turn for a point', 'take down a flyer for a point' etc in addition to plenty of 'hold objective number 3 this turn for a point'.

This made for a really interesting game and the changing and unpredictable objectives made for a battle that swung in each armies favour until the last turn.

Now some will find this annoying because the randomness of the objectives can negate great generalship. So if you are an uber completive player this probably isn't the game for you. Nevertheless both armies have to cope with the randomness and are faced with the ongoing tactical decisions as to whether or not to blow stuff up or go for objectives.
We had a blast playing this mission and it was enormous fun. I would well recommend trying it out.

Boarding marines awaiting the onslaught

Set-up
Playing these rules meant we had to remain flexible so we both positioned near to objectives expecting we might capitalise in turn 1. James won the roll-off for first turn. However, the dice gods corrected this anomaly (James never goes first agaisnst me!) by allowing me to seize the initiative - Imperial Fists to attack first!

Turn 1

We both used forward a little, not much happening and I set up my Spartan to charge into the centre of his line. I take out a chimera and claim first blood!

James drops his Drop Pod tight next to my Lascannon team, an act that would see the Lascannons pretty much tied up all game - boo!

Turn 2

My Spartan unloads its cargo of Sigismund and Terminators and destroys the Leman Russ Executioner. I take a pop at his other units with everything else and manage to immobilise another Leman Russ with the Graviton Pulse.
James manages to knock out my Sicarian and shoots every other gun in his army at my Terminators. One falls down laughing cos it tickles but that is all!
I am holding a couple of scoring Objs and get another couple of points 3-0 at this point to IF!

Turn 3
This turn I knock out another Leman Russ, Knight Commander Pask shows his true colours and hits reverse! James's Imperial Guard shoot everything again at my terminators and I am reduced to 1 Termie, Primus Medicae and Signismund...

I manage to grab another obj, and so does James. 4-1 to the VIIth Legion!

Turn 4
James wipes out my Lascannon Squad with his marines, I foolishly engage them with my Mortis Contemptor and get stuck in combat all game. James also kills my last termie, and Primus Medicae. Sigismund charges into his Blob Squad and starts scything through them. The vendettas take out my Leviathan too.

James is making a comeback and he has the lead 5-4 at this point.

Turn 5

Flesh Tearers Termies plough into the combat with Sigismund and kill him - boo! The Imperial Fists are reduced to just the Boarding Marines now but I am scoring still. 7-6 to James.

Turn 6

No more killing but James takes another couple of Obj's and its game over.

Flesh Tearers for the win at 9-6!

Post-battle de-briefing

This was a fun game so I wasn't playing too tactical. Nevertheless there were some take-home points for me:

1. Protect the Sicilian - thats two games in a row I have left it exposed and lost it early on, needs careful placement in future.

2. When a challenge is refused, if there is another IC in a squad Sigismund (or any challenger) can choose to fight them instead.

In summary, great game and great mission. I can't recommend the tactical objectives enough.

Happy gaming...

The Primarch Deathmatch - Introduction & List of Primarchs

We all love Primarchs in Warhammer. They are the demi-gods that the game and history of the universe is centred around. Finally over the last couple of years we are learning more about them and are having the opportunity to play with them on the tabletop.

With the Primarchs being released and more of their history developed by the Black Library and the Horus Heresy books, I thought that it would be fun to have a Twitter Primarch Deathmatch tournament and find out what everyone thinks about the 18 (?) characters that we know and love in Warhammer.

This is how it is going to go down....
I will put the 18 known Primarchs in a hat and draw them out one by one to fight it out in a knockout competition.
I will draw them in pairs to compete against each other in a Twitter death match poll.
The first 4 drawn are unlucky as they are the qualifiers and fight against each other to leave 2 winners who go into the 1st round of 16.
The 16 then get drawn in pairs and brought before Twitter for people to vote.
The winners go into the Quarter finals and then Semi finals before we end up with 2 Primarchs fighting it out in the Grand Finale.

Each Twitter Poll will last for 1 week and anyone can vote for any reason. It could be that you think the miniature looks amazing, they are fantastic on the tabletop, he is the leader of your favourite legion or just because you hate the other Primarch so much. The point of all of this is that I am interested in what other people think of the Primarchs in Warhammer - Do you love or hate them? Why?

After each Twitter deathmatch is decided one of us four dads will write a post about the defeated Primarch regarding their history, tabletop quality, miniature quality etc.

To remind you of the Primarchs here they are (thanks to 1D4Chan and Lexicanum):

Primarchs and Legions

1. Lion El'Jonson Caliban Dark Angels
Loyal?
Alive, imprisoned next to Luther asleep within a chamber on The Rock. The Lion will awaken once The Emperor tells him to do so.

2. +++Records expunged+++

3. Fulgrim Chemos Emperor's Children
Traitor
Daemon Prince of Slaanesh, ruler of the Pleasure World. Fulgrim's actual consciousness however, may or may not also be still imprisoned within his own body by the daemon who possessed him in the first place.

4. Perturabo Olympia Iron Warriors Traitor
Daemon Prince, ruler of Mendregard.

5. Jaghatai Khan Chogoris/Mundus Planus White Scars
Loyal
Unknown, disappeared into the Webway while hunting Dark Eldar.

6. Leman Russ Fenris Space Wolves
Loyal
Unknown, disappeared into the Eye of Terror with the 13th company but promised to return one day. Magnus supposedly knows where he is, but he isn't telling.

7. Rogal Dorn Inwit Imperial Fists
Loyal
Assumed deceased, disappeared while boarding a Chaos cruiser during a Black Crusade.
His skeletal hands were recovered and placed in shrines. Rumored to still be alive.

8. Konrad Curze Nostramo Night Lords
Traitor
Deceased, willingly assassinated by a Callidus assassin. His body was never found.

9. Sanguinius Baal Blood Angels
Loyal
Deceased, slain by Horus. May or may not be the Sanguinor.

10. Ferrus Manus Medusa Iron Hands
Loyal
Deceased, slain by Fulgrim and his head offered to Horus as a gift. Fulgrim still has the body.
Some claim he is still alive on Mars, though it may be not actually be him.

11. +++Records expunged (Possibly Malal?)+++

12. Angron Nuceria World Eaters
Traitor
Daemon Prince of Khorne. Banished to the Warp for a hundred or so years after Imperium responds to his blood crusades.

13. Roboute Guilliman Macragge Ultramarines
Loyal
In a stasis chamber after his throat was sliced by Fulgrim with a poisoned sword, so he is perpetually on the verge of death but technically still alive. Rumored to somehow be regenerating his mortal wound, despite being in a stasis field.

14. Mortarion Barbarus Death Guard
Traitor
Daemon Prince of Nurgle, ruler of Plague Planet. Banished by Grey Knights.

15. Magnus the Red Prospero Thousand Sons
Traitor
Daemon Prince of Tzeentch, ruler of the Planet of Sorcerers. Wrecked the Space Wolves' homeworld and most of their upper command structure.

16. Horus Lupercal Cthonia Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus/Black Legion
Traitor
Deceased. Killed by the Emperor after being wounded by Sanguinius.

17. Lorgar Aurelian Colchis Word Bearers
Traitor
Daemon Prince, ruler of Sicarius. Is spending all his time meditating in the warp, so Lorgar rarely appears in person anymore.

18. Vulkan Nocturne Salamanders Loyal
Dead(Can he die? Curze tried his hardest!) - disappeared.

19. Corvus Corax Deliverance Raven Guard
Loyal
Missing, last seen heading for the Eye of Terror to atone for his sin of using a legion of mutants he accidentally created to supplement his forces, only to euthanize them after the Horus Heresy. Some believe he will return.

20. Alpharius/Omegon Alpha Legion
Traitor/Loyal?
One may be dead, slain by Roboute Guilliman. (It is not known which of the twins was killed. The reliability of this information is disputed, therefore it is possible that both Alpharius and Omegon are still alive.)
So with the Primarchs identified, let battle commence! The draw will follow......

Forgeworld Friday - Solar Auxilia Surgeon

After a debate on Twitter I have recently been looking into the Solar Auxilia to tempt me into my first 30k army. I love the Astra Militarum and the Solar Auxilia models are absolutely amazing, in fact the only thing holding me back is the price that such an army would cost to put together.

Anyway, today's email from Forgeworld has cranked up the tension between my heart and my wallet with the release of the Solar Auxilia Surgeon - Primus Aevos Jovan & Medicae Orderlies. They look amaaaaaazing!!!
Solar Auxilia Surgeon-Primus Aevos Jovan & Medicae Orderlies
To boot the character has a cool backstory:

Aevos Jovan began his career as a physician to the wealthy and powerful of the prosperous Imperial hive world of Agathon in the days before the Horus Heresy. A healer and surgeon of consummate skill, he was regarded as a genius among his peers and a wonder-worker by the hive’s nobility. Rumours began to circulate, however, that he was putting the vast wealth he earned from his practice into pursuing private research into medical techniques not only considered scandalously unorthodox, but which also reached into territories forbidden by the law of Imperial Compliance. Eventually arrested and tried for criminal malfeasance and the infliction of unnecessary operations in order to support his secret agenda, he was awaiting execution at the time of Ireton MaSade’s military coup, and subsequently offered amnesty by the Lord Marshal in payment for service in the ranks of his Solar Auxilia forces. Watched closely by medicae staff who were as in awe of his abilities as they were suspicious of his motives in equal turns, Jovan exchanged the chambers of the wealthy for the blood and carnage of the battlefield as a new theatre for his unmatched skill in repairing rent flesh and ravaged organs.

And some ok rules such as auto passing 1 feel no pain roll each turn and a feel no pain pass on a 4+ for any unit he is attached to.

I have to say that Forgeworld are doing a fantastic job with the Solar Auxilia, they really do feel like a historic Astra Militarum army and some of the models are jaw dropping. I guess the poster that came with the email is calling me damn them....

Forgeworld Monday!

Today we get a teaser for the Thousand Sons - a Legion specific contemptor dreadnought if I am not mistaken!

Yet again the Space Wolves come last - will they ever get the love they deserve...of course they will and it'll be raining wolf pelts and frost axes before we know it I expect!

This model looks awesome as always and will no doubt be going into the shopping basket for you Magnus fans soon!

Forgeworld Monday!

No sooner had I posted my earlier FW update than they uploaded a new Teaser...

Yet more love for the Mechanicum range of models with this stunning Titan wrecker of gun. I do like the style of these tracked guns - much credit to the FW design team.
And this, a Cyclonic Melta Lance for the Leviathan Dreadnought. It is described as a supercharged multi-melta, i think its safe to assume this is going to wreck vehicles!

The big news on Friday was about Warhammer Fest, Ive never been so can't comment on what its like but this has been a cross-platform event firmly in the calendar for many years; my impression has been that it is more about energising our interest in the world of GW, rather than providing lots of new releases. Although given the speed with which new releases are flowing I suspect there will be some new stuff to spend our cash on!

Wednesday also brought us these lovely Word Bearer models which were built from the Betrayal at Calth boxed set and the recent upgraded resin parts.

I will keep my eye out for any more news...
